Abstract

Between Politics and Independence: Relations between Federal Constitutional Court and the Government in 1951-1957.

This study shows the painful road to a general respect of the Federal Constitutional Court, ecpecially in the first few years of its existence, when the court clashed with the political ideas of Konrad Adenauer as to what position constitutional justice should hold in new Germany.
