Abstract

Establishment of Self-government and State Administration in Prague in 1945.

This article focuses on the establishing of the Prague city government in 1945. The World War II interrupted the traditional form of city government in Prague and it wasn’t possible to carry on with it after 1945. There were established many National councils in Prague during the revolt – the communist party assigned the most of its presidents. During the first post-war months the Prague government was reorganized many times. In summer 1945 the Prague city government lost its autonomy and was subordinated to the Czechoslovak government departments
